Health Sciences Magnet Progra

Our magnet program focuses on developing awareness on critical health issues through schoolwide thematic instruction, Health Sciences curriculum and related courses, and community involvement and partnerships. The Health Sciences curriculum offers the foundations of the health care fields (6th grade), study of the human body systems and diseases (7th grade), and applications to basic safety and health care including patient care, CPR, allergy ambassador, and others (8th grade).

Sept. 14, 2021- Online application release- Applications may be submitted online (most preferred mode). Information regarding High School assessments are released through the Magnet Programs Office (Magnet Programs - Division of Curriculum and Instruction (

Sept. 18, 21-23, 20221 - Magnet Application meetings. Be sure to pre-register on the Magnet Programs' website.

October 2021- Attend showcase events

Nov. 5, 2021- Application DEADLINE. 

December 2021-January 2022 -High school magnet assessments administered

March 4, 2022 - Release of high School magnet decisions from the BCPS Magnet Programs
